class description	This family mediation training program will consist of lectures, written exercises, group discussions, and mediation simulations. It is a 46 hour class comprised of 2 consecutive weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Each participant will be involved in role play acting as the sole mediator, plaintiff, and defendant, or attorney. During the role play (acting as mediator) the participant will be required to deliver an opening statement and mediate the dispute to a resolution. The objective of role play is for the participant to develop experience and confidence acting as a mediator. Training covers: Communication Skills Community Resources and Referral Process Court Process Diversity Issues Financial Issues Tennessee Family Law Issues Concerning Children's Needs in the Context of Divorce Mediation Process and Techniques Psychological Issues in Divorce and Family Dynamics Standards of Conduct for Mediators And more....
